Web 2.0

It sounds unfamiliar to me when I first hear the word WEB 2.0. I don’t know what’s about it but from the word Web I came up to an idea that it’s all about web designing. I was so stupid when at first I thought that Web 2.0 is a software that is used in constructing and designing a web page.

When I started to browse the internet I found lots of related searches and articles about Web 2.0. I learned that Web 2.o is a category of new Internet tools and technologies created in such a way that people or users are encouraged to be active contributors and to help customize media and technology. Before the Web 2.0 arises there was Web 1.0 where only small number of writers created web pages for a large number of readers. These old traditional websites limits visitors to view the site. In addition to that, only the owners of the site can modify its content.

Where as in Web 2.0, it allows users to manipulate and exercise data in the web. The content can be personalized or remixed with other data to create much more useful tools. As of these days there are many web culture communities that are developed like social networking sites and blogs. People can share interests, ideas, informations and activities over the web. The best example of it is the blog I am doing now.

The Web 2.0 has a great impact to our community as well as to business industries. There are lots of released surveys from small to med-size enterprise relating about the use of Web 2.0 tools in their organizations.

The way I understand Web 2.0 is that it is anything related to Information Technology via web.
